Working With Impulse, use the acronym SOBER:
STOP

The Buddha’s teachings are an offering of shaving away the energy of impulsivity. We build a mindful process of slowing down impulsive responses that often do not represent our deeper intentions.

Thoughts and feelings arise within us. Our first impulse response may take over, though not be helpful toward our desired results.

Have you ever found yourself cleaning up a mess after acting out?

I know for myself impulse has a history to it, which has a trigger and shadow energy behind it. Mindfulness practice helps shave this away. We need patience as we work on this strong energy. An offering of kindness and compassion becomes part of the journey.
